Welcome to Salina Says’ new feature “Your Budget, Your Choice”!  The first product in this feature will be mascara - if you’ve been reading the blog, you’ll know how obsessed I am with it.  So here are my three mascara choices from across the pricing spectrum, all tried and tested by me!

 

GOSH AMAZING LENGTH’N BUILD

          PRICE:  £5.99.

          WHERE:  Superdrug.

          WHAT:   – Lengthens and volumises

                        – Traditional bristle brush, good length brush, densely packed bristles

                        – Doesn’t overload with product

                        – Not too wet or too dry

                        – Really buildable

VERDICT:  This is a great mascara and performs like a mascara twice the price!  I really achieved  the promised length and volume and found it didn’t end up under my eyes by the end of the day.  I also had more than one person ask me what mascara I was wearing!

 

 

BENEFIT THEY’RE REAL

       PRICE:  £18.50

       WHAT:  – lengthens, curls, volumises, lifts and separates.

                    - specially designed rubber brush with widely spaced bristles.

                    – doesn’t overload with product.

                    - long wearing, no flaking, no smudging.

 

VERDICT:  It definitely gives you the false lash effect and lengthens and curls incredibly.  I’m not a huge fan of the rubber mascara brush as I don’t think they give that much volume, but you can definitely see the difference with this one.  Again, I received comments when wearing it – well worth the money. 

 

 

MODELCO FIBRE LASH

     PRICE:  £35

     WHERE:  Exclusive to Boots.

     WHAT:  – traditional brush and the fibre lash tube.

                  - tear proof and smudge proof.

                  – lengthens and volumises.

                  – gives you the ease of having false lashes without the mess.

VERDICT:  You’ll have no excuse to not have beautiful lashes!  This quick two-step process gives you length and volume with precision, ease and no mess.  It does what it says on the tin and is super easy to remove.

 

 

TOP TIPS

• Don’t save your mascara for “special occasions” - mascara should be changed after about 3 months, so it’ll be time to throw it out before you know it.  Plus, you want beautiful lashes everyday!
• Don’t pump your mascara in the tube as this causes air to be trapped inside the tube and will dry out your product faster – instead, circle your brush inside the tube to pick up more product.
• When applying your mascara, wiggle the brush from the roots to the ends to fully coat the lashes.
